Sometimes there is a little too much starch

Author's Note: In My Writing and Yours on FaceBook we rhyme on the eighth of every month. Here are a few from this month. Mine and responses to them.

International Women’s Day!

March 8! Let's celebrate today!

So many special women in my life

I have sister friends, some come with some strife

Many are surviving, while others are thriving

I have Y sisters, who are surviving cancer

And many of us are thriving for sure.

Adopted from my sister - her sisters

I have nieces and great-nieces

That I love to pieces

Recovery sisters and theatre sisters

Sisters, I once worked with and went to school

with. Facebook sisters, and PaDiF comes a pool

of poetry sisters. Today, there are rhyming sisters

Then I have daughters-in-law, daughters

and granddaughters, and great-granddaughters.

I have female cousins and extended family sisters

I have my son's fiancée and grandkids' girlfriends

Let's celebrate every last one of my sisters, okay!

Today is the day!

Hugs and kisses

for my sisses! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Nice way to celebrate

Sisters who are first-rate

You certainly have a bunch

You could take to lunch

My recovery sister

A top of the lister

It might be me and you today.

But that’s ok!

Maybe the others are on their way to

thinking of something fun to say.

I like to rhyme all day long

Sometimes I break out in song.

Then I wiggle and waggle and dance away.

It’s great exercise wouldn’t you say.

Let’s keep on going on and on until tomorrow morning at dawn.

Then we’ll stop and take rest. Those that rhyme are always the best.

Rhyme time

How sublime

You are prime

Meant to rhyme

Enjoy your time

In Response: by Carol Verant Arola

Oh Happy Day

Happy Sunday

Happy Fun Day

It’s Rhyme Time!

It’s the eighth, not the nine!!

Warm day ahead

Get outta bed!!

Spend some time on the deck

It’s going to be nice, what the heck!

Time to let it all hang out

Get outside and give a shout!

It ain’t easy being cheezy

So much better than being sleazy.

Today’s the day to be heard

Come on, join in, don’t be a turd!!

Rhyming on the eighth

Get up, keep rhyming, have faith!!

So much fun, Denise. I have woefully few women in my life, basically none except the lovely ladies here online. Women are astonishing. Without them, all men become savages. Great poems! ⚡💙Bill⚡
