The Joy of Watering the Plants
The bliss of summer gardening
Have you savored the joy
Of watering the thirsty plants
After a hot summer day?
As you sprinkle the water
The way vanilla smell emanates
From the parched soil
It’s the same seductive petrichor
It soothes the soul.
Then comes the dancing of the twigs
As if conveying gratitude
“Thank you for offering us
Life-saving elixir after a long day
Of heat stress and wilting”.
I saw the dancing of Shasta daisy
I smelled star jasmine’s fragrance
And gazed at the stars
in the inky sky
It’s the perfect summer joy
Stuff of peaceful evenings.
Deepest happiness comes
From nurturing others.
I feel it in my entity
It fills me with serenity.
