The Midnight Battle of Good and Evil
The power of the fourth watch of the night

This poem was inspired by the original Disney animated film Fantasia. It ends as the demons who ruled the night flee as church bells ring, and morning dawns. This poem was also inspired by my experiences as a church prayer intercessor from 5-6 am for 4 years.
Illuminated by the moon and constellations
The alleged bewitching hour draws near
When the clocks strike midnight
For some, there is terror, sorrow, and fear
Apprehension of witchcraft and black magic
Unclean spirits, incantations, and spells
Prayers now go forth for protection
From the devilish powers of hell
Spiritual warriors of faith are arising
From 3 AM until 6 AM hour
When He prayed then walked on water
And calmed a storm with supernatural power
Faith conquers fear, "Peace be still"
The devils tremble and flee
At the mention of His Name
Midnight hour captives are set free
As a new day is dawning
Evil spirits take flight
Powerless and defeated
In the fourth watch of the night
