feminism
At its core, feminism is the simple conviction that women are equal to men in every regard, and should be treated as such.
Feminism. Top Story - May 2018.
You hear "feminism" and your mind instantly goes into arguing mode. Stop. "Feminism: the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes." This movement is entirely about equality. Not about women being better than men or vice versa. All women want is equality. In the job world, women still get paid less for doing the same job as a man simply because they are women. We get told we can't do certain jobs because it's not what a woman should do. What exactly is a woman meant to do? Has that been set in stone? No. We are all able to do whatever we want. A lot of people still believe women shouldn't be the breadwinner or earn more than a man. Some even still believe women shouldn't be in certain job roles because it's "too much" for them. I say screw all those opinions. I class myself as a strong, independent woman who can achieve anything she puts her mind to. I have massive goals for my lifetime in a field that is mainly male dominated, but I intend to work hard and make my way to the top. Hard work is what is needed to get to where we all want to be. If I work hard enough to get to the position I want to be in, then who on this earth has the right to take that away from me? I try to encourage my friends to work just as hard and achieve everything they want. Positive enforcement is sometimes all that's needed to trigger something in someone's mind to make them believe they can do anything in this world.

An Apology to Every Lady Anywhere and Everywhere
This is an open letter to EVERY lady I know. Ladies, I don't care if you are my sister-in-law, niece, grandniece, a lady friend from high school, an FB friend, or anyone else. I want to offer a very sincere apology to ALL of YOU.

To the Woman Who Ever Felt Less Than Amazing
Honestly, when I started this article, I had no idea what I was going to write about. I just knew that it needed to be something inspirational. I’ve seen too many posts by women lately who are struggling or fighting against life.

How Is This My Fault?
This is a constant battle back and forth; one neither side can win. At the moment, it's just women yelling at a brick wall as men don't really have a decent argument. But, we actually do. Women want to be heard, which is understandable. They want change and a way to tip the scales to be equal. I mean, this is my pure, unadulterated non-rage version. I don't like what feminism has become so I'm going to focus on the message it was supposed to have. Here is my defence for all the men out there constantly in a battle to the death with a dragon that doesn't understand four words. Four simple words. ITS NOT OUR FAULT.

Am I a Feminist?
I’ve been struggling a lot lately with the idea of feminism. How do I, as a female that truly embraces my own femininity, identify with this movement? More feminist movements begin to surface themselves in my day-to-day life within my city and cities around the nation. Information, both fair and biased, is made easily accessible by various websites and social media platforms. And yet, the more I see regarding the current state of the feminist movement, the more hesitant I become to connect on a personal level.

Play Our Way or Get Out: Hollywood’s Persistent Message to Women
I have a problem with female reboots. I have a problem with reboots and remakes and adaptations anyway—especially in the video game category, where quality is compromised for dollar signs—but I particularly find issue with female-led reboots. They fundamentally send the wrong message to women in Hollywood, and to girls the world over.

Requirements
Being a woman comes with a certain amount of "requirements" in a way. You're required to spend a lot of time making sure your make-up is perfect for every occasion, you're required to wear nice dresses and heels for every occasion to make sure you look good to everybody there, but probably most importantly, you're required to be a feminist and make sure the rest of the world is too.

Finding Feminism in Film
It is easy to find feminist characters in everything, but even though this is the twenty-first century, the movies are hardly ever centered around them, and when they are, the messages often go unnoticed or shamed and criticized. This made choosing a movie hard because I could spend hours writing about a real-life story that would most likely bore most of you. So instead, I am going to take one of the most popular series, Pitch Perfect, and strip all jokes, music, and drama away to really look at the characters that many of us have been watching since 2012.
