Asylum
It takes a genius writer with a twisted world view point to create a show such as "Asylum" on the British Broadcast corporation. It was a 3 episode mini series and it is about asylum seekers and how they take asylum in a government building somewhere in London. Who would have thought that you could find humor in such a sensitive subject but the writers have been able to do it with success. It was a drama and a comedy with an audience and a laugh track. Asylum is one of those shows that leave you not knowing where you stand.

Keeping up Appearances
One saturday night i was watching PBS for their British comedy show block that they used to air and I discovered a great sitcom called "Keeping Up Appearances" that I grew to love and any time I saw it was on I never missed the chance to watch it. The plot is simple Hyacinth wants to be high society and goes on ridiculous hijinks and shinanigans to finally be a member of high society and drives all those crazy with her plans and schemes. The show had lasted for many seasons then went off of the air and then had been brought back for a revival in the mid 90's.

Devil is a part timer
The premise is that the devil comes to Earth from below and arrives as a teenager working at a fast-food restaurant. “Devil is a Part-Timer” is one of my favorite anime series, and I recently discovered anime, and this is one of those shows that I stumbled upon and got really into.

Better Shopping Outside of Istanbul
My previous article was missing one thing: getting around by bus outside of Istanbul. Well, this article addresses that as well as the central gem of Turkiye (Turkey) for the modern traveller. The following is based on our trip there in September 2024 with the aim to help future travellers...navigate.

Perez Pepper Sauce by Chris Perez is a great hot sauce
He created different types of awesome hot sauces like for example a regular hot sauce and a green sauce. I loved it! One christmas, my cousins had gotten me the hot sauce. Chris signed the bottle as he did for all who purchased the products. Chris is a man of many talents and hot sauce maker is one of the other of Chris' talents. With the sauces there was a shirt that came with it.

The Smoking Room
There is another smashing and funny comedic sitcom that I found from the British Broadcasting corporation called "The Smoking Room". The plot and premise of the show is very simple it centers around a couple of employees of a company that does something which is never said what. All of the employees are hilarious and it takes a genius writer to capture the hilarity of things and situations that happen in the break room or the smoking room in this case. It only lasted for no more than 2 or 3 seasons and it was too smart for it's own good.

Tea for one in Brighton: Afternoon Tea at the historic Old Ship Hotel
There is still something quietly radical about a woman choosing to travel alone, one who enjoys life’s small pleasures entirely on her own terms. As spring approaches and travellers begin to plan their escapes, Brighton feels like the perfect place to practise that freedom. Whilst Afternoon Tea is a year-round ritual, there is something especially enchanting about enjoying it in this seaside town in the south of England as winter loosens its grip.

Seattle Nightlife Report: Pony. Top Story - January 2026.
Mid-winter Friday night. Early but already so dark. The days are getting longer but 6 PM is still pitch black. “Firepit!” You declare things after just a few seconds of solemn thought – not a request or suggestion, not a demand. Last week you walked around saying, “Hot tub?” to anyone who would listen. Or one afternoon you pointed at two men holding hands as they crossed 12th Avenue, looked me in the eyes and said, “Boyfriends.”

Getting Around Turkey (Turkiye) by Air and Bus
In an earlier article, I wrote about a nice little hack of getting to and leaving from Turkey by way of connecting flights in Warsaw - an absolute delight. Now, I am going to give you the skinny on traveling by air internally in Turkiye (Turkey) via AJet and Pegasus Airlines, Istanbul's two major airports (SAW and IST), plus a few tips on traveling between cities by bus all based on a trip we took in September 2024.

Rissani Morocco Souk History
I didn’t arrive in Rissani expecting much. After days of driving through southeastern Morocco, it felt like just another quiet town near the desert. No crowds, no souvenir shops, no signs pointing to “must-see attractions.” But the moment I stepped into the souk, I realized I had walked into something far older and more meaningful than I anticipated.
