Instructions for seeing the Meta Connect 2023 VR showcase
The Meta Connect 2023 VR showcase event commences tomorrow, offering multiple avenues for viewing. The event will be streamed live on Facebook as expected, while also accessible through Meta's Horizon Worlds app using a Quest VR headset. Although the event spans two days, the keynote address will begin on September 27 at 1 PM ET.

Sometimes, just before I fully sink into the deliciousness of sleep, as I hover on the moistened lip of unconsciousness, I see myself creating the world’s next literary masterpiece. In this vision, I am in a well-lit room, and strewn all over the room are myriad supplies: books, pens, notepads, figuratively epicentred by my confident vision and literally by a standing desk. The world’s next literary masterpiece will be a novel, as much a coming-of-age story as it is a coming-of-art.

Letters to Louie
It was late in the fall, he thought to himself as he laid there in the desert sands dreaming of home. Dreaming of what he left behind, enlisting was what his father would have wanted, four generations of Marines, serving their country with gratitude and resilience. It was Tuesday - mail day but usually there was no letter for him, once a month his mother would send him a letter but today was not the day. His friend Dillon was a few feet over messing with his gun, cleaning it and practicing his stance. "Dude you better get out of that sand, those fleas are going to eat you up." Although Louie heard him, he just waved him off not really caring about the fleas at this point. He missed home, he missed her, he couldn't close his eyes without seeing her smile and those hypnotic brown eyes that captured him the very day he met her. Struggling with the decision he had made to push her away, as he felt that at the time he was protecting her from the hurt and pain of the possibility he would not return. Just one letter, just one picture would brighten up his head space.

One of my favorite poets of all time is the winner of the Noel Prize in Literature (1995) Irish Literary Legend, Seamus Heaney. Whereas another great legend Ted Hughes wrote the poem 'The Thought Fox' to describe how he goes about writing a poem, Heaney wrote the poem 'Digging' to describe his choice to be a poet, instead of following his father's footsteps, digging for peat in an Irish bog.

To Write, You Must Observe
Being a good observer contributes to being a good writer. Taking the time to observe the world around you help to stimulate a good sense of what to write about and what could be put to paper. I find that observing people, animals, or just nature without distractions can stimulate your ability to process possible ideas whether for poetry, stories, or for articles. You can draw both hypotheses and conclusions from you observe the world around you. It allows you to come up with scenarios or storylines just from seeing what’s going on around you.
