The phone began to ring at the office of Louis Trotter and was answered with a click. Handling the phone in one hand, and paintbrush in the other, he said, “Hello? Yes this is Louis…Of course, I’ll be right there.” Then after a couple quick brush strokes onto a notepad, Louis grabbed his belongings and made his way out of his building to his car. The Legacy Auction house was a new destination for him. Louis was an appraiser and authenticator of fine art. He had been to auction houses before to authenticate a piece before the auction was held, but this was the first time he was invited to the Legacy. “It seems that I’ve really come up in the world,” he muttered to himself before pulling up to the building.

Her feet—bare and smooth held little indications of the chains that kept her bound to her post. She donned the most expensive linens, dyed—bright emerald green, tantric black and lively blue. Where most of the King’s women draped themselves in thick, floor-length gowns of muted gloom—Samaria ensured all eyes found their way to her, and before today she’d never thought of looking at any other man.
