Take a hike!. Top Story - January 2025.
A few brief years ago our merry group set off to climb a āmountainā. Tabletop Mountain ā in S.E. Queensland ā is no Everest, but it was challenge enough for us. Springās searing sun was already high when we abandoned our cars at its base. As the track was neither marked nor maintained, we were grateful to a chirpy, fit teenager climbing with us. Having completed the hike on a previous occasion, she agilely scampered up the incline, calling encouragement down to us. We would have been clueless without her guidance.

Sun, sweat ān surfā¦
A salty combo: sweat ān surf! A bit like Fish ān chips⦠The Sunny Coastās Mudjimba Beach parkrun was a siren, calling to me. Just an hour and a half drive north of Brisbane ā Mudjimba Beach, an unspoilt coastal paradise generously offered delights such as surfing, swimming, fishing and bushwalking.

Hideous, knife at my throat!. Top Story - November 2024.
The Knife at My Throat certainly deserves Dishonourable Mention status! Despite my instant misgivings, I stiffened my spine and bravely pressed on past the daunting title! You may be unaware of the extent of my loathing of Horror, in any shape, form, length⦠itās way too much for my already overactive imagination!

Angieās Artefacts againā¦
Spring is almost done as I head out into the red centre of Australia for a wander amongst Kata Tjuṯaās thirty-six massive burnt orange rock domes. Setting out just after sunrise, I aim to avoid an afternoon thunderstorm and downpour. However, feet shod in sturdy hiking boots, Iām well prepared for inclement weather and slippery rocks. I keep my eyes peeled for any interesting specimens the recent rains might have exposed.
