I am married with 7 children, 28 grands, and 13 great-grandchildren. I am a culture consultant part-time. I write A Poem a Day in February for 8 years now. I wrote 4 - 50,000 word stories in NaNoWriMo. I write on Vocal/Medium daily.

Sign Language Is Not Uttering One Word Right?
It was a beautiful day and I was out to get some fresh air. I heard some interesting noise coming from down the alley. It was a sound I hadn't heard before. I might turn around and go the other way. Then I saw a neighbor come from that direction.

Team Carrie Powwow For Hope Fundraiser
On September 23, 2023, my daughter, 3 of her children, and 2 grandchildren were at the Powwow for Hope. Every year we support this fundraiser in our role as Team Carrie Powwow for Hope Fundraiser. My sister died in 2010, on September 24. She died from leukemia.

A Grief Retreat In The Northwoods
We came together at a resort in the woods. The only other people up there at the time were fishermen and women, a few grouse hunters with their hunting dogs, and friends. It is quiet, especially if you come from a large city.

Retreating Into the Country Up North
Yes, there will be yoga, by a master yoga teacher or two. Well, one of them will be providing guided meditation and meditation walks. The retreat this year is to be held at a resort in northern Minnesota. Not too far from where I grew up.

Attending an Indigenous Writers Gathering Was Great!
When attending the Indigenous Writers Gathering at a Tribal and Community College an hour from my house, I noted that a lot of the writers’ work came from serious topic areas. Then there were the fun and funny works as well!
