Climate Change and Protest
Climate change and orchestrated “protest”—how many people protesting actually know what is happening? The “rent a mob brigade” of disconnected people, many calling themselves anarchists, have joined with socialists to protest about climate change. These are not true anarchists since they appear to believe in a new world order controlled by themselves; while a true anarchist believes there should not be any order, any form of government at all. This alliance has, in Britain, dragged school children into their political protests. They are political protests despite the claims they wish to save the planet for the future generations. It would seem the lobbyists have done a good job; these lobbyists seem to be working for the multibillion dollar Lithium using industries, including the makers of electric powered cars, wind generators, solar power producers and anyone who wants to change the politics of the world. I am sure all the young protesters are well meaning and well intentioned, although I have doubts about the amount they have studied all the varied aspects of climate change. They are fed what the lobbyists advise their teachers to tell them, questioning is not allowed. Just as with any modern political debate, young students are not allowed to hear contrary arguments. The “no platform” movement is simply to ensure no one questions the agenda of those declaring no platform.

Has Science Lost Its Way?
Has science lost its way? Do politics now control research? Science used to be the prerogative of the very wealthy and educated people. They had money and time, and while never being under the control of anyone, they were often those with inherited wealth, enough so they never needed to work and never needed support from any vested interest. This has all changed and now science is business, a career path, and a hugely technological industry.

Apparent Growth in Ill-Health—Is This a Political Issue?
The social media is an outlet for numerous conspiracy theories. Some are about our state of health and what can be causing ill health. In the domestic politics of many nations, health care is a major debating position, showing its importance to individuals and to the governments of nations.

Appearance Matters More Than Reality
Appearance is now more important than reality. What we see, has more influence that truth. Examine the power of advertising and ask why are pure white teeth considered not only desirable but healthy and “good?” It is because advertisers, whilst in a campaign to sell toothpaste and dental equipment. (A campaign where the objective is to generate sales and make money,) have convinced us this is so. Dentists like to further this since they make more money from cosmetic dental work than from dealing with diseased teeth.

Blame and Fault
It has always been considered the best policy, that when things go wrong, to try to deal with any situation by first trying to minimise any harm or damage, second by preventing an immediate repeat, and third by finding a way to rectify and repair any damage done. Next, consideration is long-term prevention of repeats. Finding who was at fault or who could be blamed does not appear on this list. This can often end up in frustration, especially when the reaction of people further up the food change is firstly to ask who is to blame, and secondly to assure everyone they personally were not involved in any way. By the time they get around to rectifying things, it has all got worse than need have been.

Love: Has It Lost Its Meaning?
Love: has it lost its meaning? Some idle thoughts on “love.” A dictionary definition of love is: To have a great attachment to and affection for. To have passionate desire, longing, and feelings for. To like or desire to do something very much. To be in love, an intense emotion of affection, warmth, fondness, and regard towards a person or a thing.

Why Are Britain and Europe in Such a Mess?
Why are Britain and Europe in such a political and economic mess? What the rest of the world should learn. Margaret Thatcher was the last British Prime Minister who had both conviction and a large majority within Parliament. Even she could not make radical changes to the EU bureaucracy, although she managed to slow their advance, but she could not get the meaningful reforms that she knew to be necessary. Because of this the British people decided reform was not possible. It appears that the political elite who took over once Mrs Thatcher had left office, always took the path of least resistance and acquiesced in all the EU bureaucratic usurping of, what should still be, each nations right to govern itself according to the wishes of its own indigenous electorate.

Socialism, the Enemy of Creativity
There is understandable resentment about the governance of the western nations, but will socialism be an improvement? The very many people, who consider creativity to be the most important facet of human existence, fear socialism. It is feared that it is anti-creativity. It is a wholly negative view of the world. It has a main objective of bringing down those who enjoy wealth and privilege. It does not plan to bring everyone else up to that level. The whole philosophy is based on taking from those that have and giving it to “the state.” A body they control and by making everybody dependent on “the state,” they perpetuate the control they have and the power they wield.

Modernizing Emergency Services
Whilst this essay is about England, the principles can be applied to any nation. A consultation paper on local plans to transfer responsibility for clearing road traffic accidents, from police to the fire brigade, has drawn heavy criticism from the local Fire Brigade union chief.
