What is space law?
Space law is a body of legal principle, an area of law, defined by its subject matter and the human activities it covers, rather than a specific jurisdiction or location. Space law is among a growing number of emerging categories of law, along with others such as media law or environment law, which ‘retain the idea of keeping study and teaching within categories defined by a body of legal principle which corresponds with common law or statute’ (Bartie, 2010, p350). The body of legal principle that forms the core of space law is found in international law, as might be expected, given the acceptance during the latter half of the twentieth century, of international legal regimes underpinning the law of other areas beyond national jurisdiction: the sea, air space and Antarctica.

Quit the begging Wikipedia . Top Story - December 2025.
Have you ever donated money to Wikipedia? I have, but never again. I have made the decision that Wikipedia no longer deserves my financial support. It was never a huge amount but, as a frequent user of the Wiki database, I felt I ought to make a contribution. I would even be happy to make a modest regular contribution... if I thought that the funding model stood up. I don't. No charity that I know of restricts its fundraising activities to just holding out a donations tin. Maybe they have a plan that I am not aware of but who cares? You have to do better than this if you want any more of my money.

Shame on you Australia. Content Warning.
What can Australia possibly be thinking? Banning children from accessing social media! Children spend too much time on social media. They should read more books and play more sport. They need to be more outgoing and stop relying on social media for contact with the outside world. They are exposed to too much sex and violence from social media.

NPG one year on
Exactly one year ago today I made a visit to the National Portrait Gallery in London. Business currently takes me frequently to Leicester Square, where the nearby NPG makes a delightful stopover. I sometimes allow myself an hour or so there, in quest of inspiration. Seldom do I not find it in one way, shape or form.

What price the lady's eyes
Don’t you think it’s fascinating that a single painting can command such a price at auction? I do. I sometimes wonder how much I would pay for a work of art, were money no object to me. I have a similar personal question about what car I would buy for myself, if I had enough money to buy any car I took a fancy to. I suspect I would go no further than a state-of-the-art Audi or BMW. I really couldn’t buy a Rolls Royce, Aston Martin or Ferrari.
