Camellia
piercing winter gloom camellia blooms softly such a lovely sight. In winter, in the arboretum and the yards in our region, camellias blooms. Camellia is a tea family plant with lovely flowers. In Japan, camellias have been painted very frequently. Here is one by me (watercolor).

House in Solitude
under quiet hills a spacious house stands alone, wrapped in solitude. Most of us are living with noise and seeking solitude. More so if we are creatures like artists and writers. So, when I spotted this house tucked away in the middle of chaparral, I secretly envied its owner.

Pelicans
a fleet of pelicans on rippling water drift— peace fills my heart now. It was a delightful feeling to see this large flock of pelicans floating on a lake in a mountain town, not far from our home. They sent the message, enjoy doing nothing, in nature, feeling strong in a community.
