Loss of Innocence. Content Warning.
I was four. Unlike my three siblings including my fraternal twin sister I was different. Growing up I heard things like he is the Rain Man, or incredibly gifted but shy. I was unlike most kids who grow up in the 80's. I did not like the company of other people my age. I was unusual, yet a human like any other. As such I had something stolen from me. It was a like a heist this world did to me which only led to further things taken. I am a natural overthinker and was even at the age of four. My parents did not understand what was wrong with me. Why I was so distant yet distinctive. The words my mom uttered taunt me to this day. They robbed me of my innocence, left me bludgeoned, feeling in my mind blood curdling screams. Pain that will never forget from those words, forgiven but never forgotten. For those words were, "it is embarrassing being your mom." Words no child should hear, words that linger and destroy the soul with a blunt crush much like when a boulder hits the earth. I am left impregnated with the imprint of those words.

Decisions
The two boys climbed the cliff like they often did. Like most boys they tussled and climbed rocks. They ran after each other and gave chase. They decided to climb the lone tree on the cliff. They were nimble boys, both small yet strong for their age. Their father called to them and said it was dinner time. The boys climbed higher so the father went towards them. The branch holding the boys broke, while the father desperately tried to hold both boys about to fall off the cliff. Only one could live so he let go of both and prayed.

The Theatre
The movie theatre was going to close down. Not many people went to the old place and if a hit film did not come soon, probably nobody would. Ticket prices were slashed and concession foods prices were lowered. That did little for the sales. Dave found a mysterious man who had a special movie. The movie was so lucid and scary people started coming in droves to see it. Eventually though the movie became the reality. Zombies now infest the world.

Snake
He was tired of never getting picked for hockey. He thought maybe if he sold his soul to the man he would get picked. It was worth a shot. He wrote a letter to the man and signed it stating he was giving his soul to be the best at hockey. The next day it worked. He snaked through the line and deked all opponents. He was always chosen first for hockey. Until the day the man collected his soul. He turned into a snake.

Wish
The mirror showed a reflection that wasn't my own. It was strange having to see this image. I had looked into this mirror thousands of times and never before seen this. The face in the mirror was ghoulish and looked like an ugly troll. Is that what I have become? I went to bed and closed my eyes. This must be a dream, tomorrow I will wake up and everything will be normal. The problem is, I had transformed in order to achieve my waking dreams.
