Songs That Are Definitely About Something, But It's Sure Not Love
Has anyone ever told you: “Don’t think about a purple elephant?” Of course, as soon as someone says that, you immediately start thinking about purple elephants. You can’t try to resist a thought without paying even more attention to it.

The Other Side of Love with The Beatles: An Anti-Valentine's Day Playlist. Top Story - February 2021.
The Beatles became famous with their simple, saccharine tunes about love. ‘I Want to Hold Your Hand’, ‘She Loves You’, ‘Love Me Do’, and ‘From Me To You’ not only brought them fame, it also showed that few bands were better when it came to encapsulating the joyous feeling of love within the confines of a three-minute pop song.

"Les Misérables" is the official playlist of Valentine's Day
I am twenty-nine years old and single. “Grim” is the energy I bring to everything I do, and Valentine’s Day is no exception. This year, I will celebrate Valentine's Day the way I always do. Grimly, and alone.

Playlist To Learn After The Burn
Let us start off with Valentine’s Day. Here is a simple explanation. When I think of Valentine’s Day, I think of taking the time or most of the day expressing your love for the ones you genuinely care about. In many cases, people express their love to their significant others. However, Valentine’s Day does not necessarily have to be about romance between a couple. It can be showing love for family members, friends, and even co-workers. I remember when students would give cute cards out to everyone in their class when I was school. That goes to show you that there are different types and levels of love – from friendly love to passionate love.

Anti-Valentine's Day Playlist
I made an anti-Valentine's Day playlist last year, and I'm making another one this year. WHY? Because it fucking sucks! If you're single the entire first half of February is filled with "meals for two" advertisements, aisles in shops full of lovey-dovey cringy cards and engagement announcements and couples posting Instagram captions with "we've had our ups and downs but I still love you" and EWWW!

Damn You Ariel
Damn You Ariel I’m my own Prince Charming It all began with the Little Mermaid the Disney version. Girl wants more and a man can give it to her. He was deceived by the sea witch aka the one with a fewer imperfection than you. With the help of her friends they help him realize the bigger butt is a fake. Something like that, Right? The point is I was taught by that story that love has obstacles but good always prevails, or so I thought. It would be much later in my life that I came to know the original Hans Christian Andersen version of the story. Sis was treated like a dog, he marries the next bitch, she must choose to kill him or turn into sea foam. While both good stories, reality is a bit more between the lines or parts of both tales.

Anti-Valentine's with Ashnikko
If you haven't heard of the artist Ashnikko yet, let me introduce you. Her new EP DEMIDEVIL recently dropped and its an evolution of her style and character. She's blown up online due to her songs going viral on TikTok and high spotify streams. If you listen to the songs on her first album, HI, IT'S ME, you might notice it seemed to be an evolution of a specific character, of someone going through a breakup, dealing with aftermaths, realizing they are better off and finding their worth, while getting some action inbetween.

2 Words 2 Birds
This is a bit of a challenge to award this day with tons of anti-Valentine Day propaganda. The fact that I've been "unsingle" for the past 12 years makes me have to stretch a little on what it was like to be single this time of year. However, having a teenage daughter brings it back into perspective.
