Fitness Without a Fat Wallet
Picture this. You want to get fit, but you can’t afford the gym fees. You want to look stylish, but all the brands are expensive. You want to eat better, but you don’t have all the fancy kitchen equipment. Sometimes getting fit and losing weight are not only time-consuming and energy-sapping, but also wallet-draining. The fitness marketplace is full of useful—yet expensive—equipment which aims to boost your performance; however, you don’t need to spend big to make a big difference. So how exactly can you get fit on a budget?

How to Take up Running
I recently got into running because I wanted to lose weight, and began hitting the treadmill, religiously. I stayed consistent for about a year and a half, until a car accident made things more difficult. I wasn't injured too badly, but fitness certainly wasn't the same for awhile. I fell off the wagon.

The Best Protein Powders to Power Your Workouts
Did you know the American College of Sports Medicine gave the go-ahead for athletes to use protein supplements? It is not the only institution backing up the use of protein powder for your workout; verified medical practitioners have also weighed in on the topic. My Fitness Journey
Y’all, this is me. I can’t believe I ever got that unhealthy. I don’t like the word fat, but it’s fairly accurate. After having our first son, I stopped working out almost entirely. Being active duty military, I still had to meet certain requirements. I still met them, but I didn’t exceed them by any means. Once I hit this low point, (left photo) I decided it was time to get healthy. However, I didn’t know what my goal was. My inspiration came from my oldest son, who firmly believes that I am Captain America. I decided I wanted to cosplay the star spangled man with the plan, but I didn’t want to be one of the chubby heroes at Comic-Con. I wanted to be the type of guy that my son could still believe in. So, I started out rough. I have free access to a gym on base, but I figured if I’m paying for it I’m more likely to use it. So I got my planet fitness membership. It was slow going at first. I was barely able to bench 90 pounds. I couldn’t curl more than like 20 pounds. I was out of shape and not anywhere close.

Easily Bored? This Is What You Should Focus on While Jogging
No matter how motivated you are, and how determined you are to make running an integral part of your life, you’re going to become bored with your regular run. Jogging down the same road, passing the same sights, and perhaps even listening to the same music can get tiring after a while. You may think it won’t when you first start out, but try keeping the momentum going for months or years. Anyone would struggle with that.

Get off of That Treadmill... Unless You're Sprinting
First off, what is a HIIT workout? A HIIT workout is a form of interval training. It stands for High-Intensity Interval Training. Basically, you perform an exercise with maximum effort to reach your target heart rate and then you rest for a short period of time, during what is called a recovery period. They burn 25 to 30 percent more calories than any other form of workout. Not only that, but you will also gain muscle and burn a lot of fat in a short period of time. How do you ask?

Exercise Challenge (Pt. 12)
This last group of weeks has been all about work and getting back into the exercise groove. I am back to going to the YMCA for aqua aerobics twice a week. I get in as many steps as I can during my work days and try to get in any other form of exercise that I can. Here is what I have been up to...
