At the end of the day

A silence acrostic

Soon, soon the cacophonous day will peter out

In the clanging of pans and the clatter of forks,

Lessening with the light, its raucous sounds centralised,

Embalming recumbent seekers through speakers,

Numbing the senses until, at last,

Cut off. The absence feels like silence,

Easing into peace.

Acrostic

This felt like ending the day and going to bed in a poem. Great work Hannah

I like how this seems to slow down and peter out, but in a soothing, relaxing way🤗

    I chilled just reading...nice

  • What an impressive acrostic poem… like John Cox… my favourite line is: “Embalming recumbent seekers through speakers,”. Great progression throughout the poem.

  • You invoked that busy work day and the calmness of after hours so well. Nice work!

  • Ah that was so blissful! Loved your Acrostic!

Embalming recumbent seekers with speakers is an amazing line! Oh for a little blessed silence in the midst of this maddening cacophonous world! Great entry for the challenge, Hannah!

Oh wow. Love this one. Reminds me of when the kids were younger...or how my nonna must have felt when most of the family would go to hers every weekend lol. Well done, Hannah!
