Honesty Sets You Free
Why being yourself is the greatest freedom of all.

Happy are the people
who show their face
as it is.
Who do not hide what they are
nor what they feel.
I know people
who admitted their truth
when appearance no longer said it all.
And I can say
they are calmer, more confident
and happier than many
who never had to hide anything.
Honesty sets you free.
It gives space to breathe deeply
and to stand tall in your own skin.
We all carry experiences.
Journeys. Struggles. Strength
that we had to find ourselves.
And it is natural to want to share that.
I love people
who speak from truth.
Who have gone through life
and haven't lost themselves.
I love happy, successful,
cheerful, and relaxed people.
But most of all I love
those who dared
to be who they are.
Author's Note:
In a world where we often wear masks to fit in or please others, authenticity becomes a revolutionary act. This poem is a reminder that hiding our true selves is exhausting, while honesty—though sometimes scary—is the only path to true peace. When we stop pretending, we start living.
This poem was originally published on my bilingual blog Magma Star.
