An acrostic

Sometimes I think back to those nights, I said sorry on repeat for

Insecurities I carried like bricks on my feet.

Living disillusioned, as my heart skips a beat when

Every-time I hear each syllable roll out your name.

Never-even knowing I was a rider on a one-way train, even after we

Crossed borders you gas-lit me over. But it wasn’t until my final cry, when the song of your crickets

Empowered me back to my sound mind.

Acrostic

“ Insecurities I carried like bricks on my feet.” is such a powerful visual, and you manage to get to a catharsis at the end of this acrostic too!

  • This was soooo freaking powerful! Loved it!

This is an amazing acrostic poem. Well done.

  • Beautiful!

  • You killed it, loved this!

  • Reading this with my morning cup of joe, I could hear the symphony of the crickets right outside my window as I read this in the shadowy hour before the break of dawn. This little bit of synchronicity added an extra touch of eloquence to an already excellent piece! Well-wrought!

Felt like such a doomed ride.
