politics
Politics does not dictate our collective cultural mindset as much as it simply reflects it; We've got to look in the mirror sometimes, and we've got one.
On This Day in 2016!!
Tuesday March 1st, Terry McAuliffe was the 72nd Governor of Virginia, Paul Fraim, Norfolk’s Mayor since 1994 was in four months to the day preparing to ride off into the political sunset, and this was day I told the world, via Facebook, I was heading to the polls for the 2016 Super Tuesday Elections. I expressed my excitement with a photo, the one attached to this blog post here. It was special to me. This was my 4th time voting in a presidential election, and my first time attending a rally connected to same. I was hyped, scared, confused, and embarrassed to show it. I remember arriving to Lake Taylor High School, Monday February 29, that was also the last time we had a leap year, which if I can take this side note, because I find it fascinating, EVERY PRESIDENTIAL RACE falls on the same year as LEAP YEAR.... 😳😳😳 now back to work..

Should Men Lose The Right To Vote?
I think it is vitally urgent to the survival of mankind for us to realize one important truth: all men are capable of evil. That isn't to say that every man is evil, but in the right circumstances, we will do what we have to to stay alive. We are capable of evil now, we were most certainly capable of evil in the past, and we will be capable of evil in the future. Men, sometimes we rape, pillage, go to war, murder, thieve and plot against those we wish to topple. We are the hunters, and we find prey, even when there is none to be found. Us men will create prey from our own brethren, and we will then hunt, kill and cuckold, just out of boredom sometimes. That's just what men do, have done, and always will do.

America's march towards Right Wing Fascism.
It's November 1972. Nixon just decimated the Democratic hopeful George McGovern by a 23 point margin in the popular vote. McGovern ran on a platform advocating for the withdrawal from the Vietnam War in exchange for American POWs and amnesty for draft evaders who had left the country. He also included a 37% reduction in defense spending over the next 3 years, and a "demogrant" program aiming to replace the personal income tax exemption with a $1,000 tax credit as a minimum income floor for every American citizen, in order to replace the bureaucracy of the existing public assistance programs. McGovern also supported the ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment - which has still not been ratified. The establishment favored the more moderate Ed Muskie.

Britain and racism
Britain and racism--- The politics behind claims of racism. There are many claims that British people are “racist,” that is it is claimed that they discriminate against people of darker skin or non Christian religions. Such generalised claims have to be treated with caution. There are around 70 million people in Britain and it is estimated that 15% were either born out side of Britain or born in Britain to parents who came from overseas. To blanket claim that all these are racist is not sustainable. We have government ministers who come into this 15% estimate. They were voted into power by democratic majority votes and so all those who voted for them can not be classed as racist.

Dear Republicans
It's official: The Republicans would rather choose loyalty to Trump rather than loyalty to the country As of January 31st, 2020, the Republican controlled Senate rejected the Democrats request for new evidence in the Impeachment of Donald J. Trump.

Government: When Reach Exceeds Grasp
It rained last night in Greater Vancouver. It rained a lot. Not exactly headline news for this time of year, but it got me thinking about, of all things, the proper role of government in our lives. This is a subject of much debate now, as it was 2500 years ago. My thinking on the subject has evolved, particularly after spending seventeen years working for the federal government. I got a front row seat, not only for what governments can and should do, but also for what they are terrible at.

Armed Conflicts Elsewhere Harm Coastal Inhabitants Everywhere
Coastal areas across the globe have been gradually submerging under water as a result of the earth’s environmental deterioration, which is caused by several contributory factors including the increasing trend of worldwide militarization.
