Erasing Black Girlhood
Black girls aren’t receiving equal love or support from society as white girls of the same age. Society tends to have bad views or ideas on black, such as black girls don’t need as much nurturing, that we know more about sex or adult topics, that we don’t need as much love, we need less support, less protection, and are more independent. None of these are true, black girls need the same amount of love, support, protection, and nurturing as all other races. We aren’t more independent, and we don’t know more about sex or adult topics than any other races. The problem gets even worse when people in a power position have these views.

Why Banning Abortion is Unconstitutional
In the face of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, otherwise known as the Mississippi abortion ban case, pro-choice advocates all across the nation have doubled down on their arguments for protecting the right to a safe abortion. A myriad of strong, valid arguments have been presented, with everything from protecting bodily autonomy to a fair question of when life truly begins. Unfortunately, though, it seems that many of these arguments fail to truly reach the ears of the other side, the side calling for an end to Roe v. Wade. However, one thing that both sides of the aisle value greatly is the Constitution, which grants American citizens the rights we hold so dear. Neither side wants to see an unconstitutional bill turn into a law because no one wants their rights to be violated and disregarded. The thing with abortion bans, though, is that they do directly violate the Constitution and some of America’s founding principles. Here’s just a few ways in which they do so.

Who Am I?
I don't recognise myself at the moment. That's not a bad thing, in fact, it's an amazing thing. I finally got into the police station and had my interview. It took me more than a decade to find the strength. To say it was hard, would be an understatement. Walking to the station seemed to take a lifetime. My insides were churning. I could feel myself going numb and dissociating from everything. I didn't want to do that, not this time. I knew that I had to let myself feel everything if I wanted to be free. I was nervous, which was obvious to the officer doing the interview. However, she, along with the rape counsellor, put me at ease. Every time I've thought about and shared my story, I've expected judgement. Mainly because I have judged and found myself guilty since the day it happened. Neither of these women was there to judge. They made it very clear that they were there for me. Re-living that evening, that moment, made me feel sick. I had to keep going over it, and over it, and over it. Finally, allowing myself to feel it. Only this time, there was no shame. There was no blame, not for me. I was asleep and he made his choices. Nothing I did or didn't say or do matters. Consent was not given, end of story.
