Breaking the ice
I was a contrarian as a schoolboy. I hated to do what I was told. And in school, I was often told to write. So, I hated writing. After I left school, I took a gap year before I went to university. That winter, I lived in a vacation town on the Jersey Shore. Back then, people observed the seasonal landmarks. After Labor Day, the town was almost deserted.

JENNIFER. Content Warning.
**Jennifer: The Ancient Tapestry of a Name** In the heart of a quaint village nestled between rolling hills and lush meadows, there lived a young woman named Jennifer. Her name carried with it a rich tapestry of ancient meanings and a spiritual significance that seemed to guide her path through life.

Neon Unicorns
I was young. Grade school young. I knew writing was fun. My father and I did my language arts homework every night, and my favorite assignments always included writing our own stories. I come from a long line of storytellers. People with imagination and creativity woven into their bones. My grandad could easily weave a tale so fascinating, I never minded when he repeated one twice (or three or four times).

Toastmasters Table Topics #3
I have written about the significance of public speaking in the past. Our Toastmasters club is about to hold a table topic competition soon. Publishing a collection of table topics sounds like an excellent initiative to prepare. It requires making notes of all table topics discussed during a club meeting. Posting a short speech on these topics will help me visualize delivery.

Progress
Other people’s words have always seemed more adequate than mine; even when it came to expressing my own inner most feelings. Lyrics, quotes, memes, etc., always from a source rather than myself, are what I have always used to share with the world, the person that I am.

From Person Who Writes, to Writer. Top Story - September 2023.
Ever since I was a child my Nana always encouraged me to keep a journal. Every year for Christmas, she would gift me a new notebook and pen. The first year this tradition started, I got a little spiral book with a duck swimming through the water on the cover. I was in the 7th grade, and I remember writing about the intricacies and emotions of middle school. They were silly little musings with no real purpose, and there were months between the entries. Not much has changed about my writing style. I'm on top of it hard, and I fall off hard. There's no in between.
