There. I Am.
It appears to be 10 months since I submitted anything to Vocal. In fact apart from the odd short one off, it's that time since I wrote. Time, headspace, exhaustion etc etc, however I have change my life direction considerably, have rested as much as possible (no trust find here!) so gently getting myself back into the swing with Found Poetry, one of my favourite forms of poetry, and will make myself accountable be publishing it here. Instead of holding myself to one a day it's going to be one a week. If more happen so be it but I am incredibly good at setting myself up to fail...

The Tattoo Shop Ghost
The Tattoo Shop Ghost The tattoo shop ghost was rarely seen, but his presence was a constant, subtle caress. Customers often spoke of a cool breeze that brushed their skin, leaving behind a shiver that was more soothing than chilling. They described it as a gentle hug, lingering until they stepped outside, where a soft wind would carry it away. Sceptics dismissed it as fancy, but believers would search the shadows whenever an unexplained sound echoed through the studio.

Charm Against An Egg Boat. Top Story - April 2025.
Update: I am privileged to have had this piece accepted by The Gothic Gazette which has given me a massive boost as I have been feeling flat about my writing … to Charm Against an Egg Boat is one of my first pieces of flash fiction responding to traditional rhymes. It was published in Pagans of the North March 2024 edition https://www.pagansofthenorth.co.uk/magazine. I am submitting monthly to this online magazine and have popped my piece Ring O' Roses that was in the April Edition underneath Charm. The wee cartoon of the witch in her egg boat was drawn my partner Mick Smith.
