For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Friendship Fossilised. Content Warning.
Introduction This has been inspired by the fact that I often include old stories of mine, to expand or enhance new stories, and also to make sure that I am not repeating myself too much. It is OK for some repetition to give emphasis to some points, but I don't want a virtual repeat of any old stories.

Harry and Meghan Visit Refugee Camp as Part of Middle East Trip. AI-Generated.
Prince Prince Harry and his wife Meghan Markle visited a refugee camp in the Middle East this week, drawing international attention to the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the region and reinforcing their commitment to advocacy work focused on displaced communities. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived at the camp as part of a wider Middle East tour centered on mental health, women’s empowerment, and the welfare of children affected by conflict. Their visit was organized in coordination with international aid organizations and local authorities, who said the couple’s presence helped highlight the daily challenges faced by millions of refugees. Meeting Families and Aid Workers During their tour of the camp, Harry and Meghan met with refugee families who have fled violence and instability in their home countries. They listened to personal stories of loss, survival, and resilience, spending time with children enrolled in makeshift schools supported by humanitarian agencies. Witnesses said the couple appeared visibly moved as they spoke with mothers struggling to provide education and healthcare for their families. Prince Harry emphasized the importance of maintaining global focus on refugee crises that often fade from headlines. “These families deserve dignity, safety, and hope for the future,” he said in brief remarks to aid workers. Meghan echoed the sentiment, noting that women and children bear the greatest burden of displacement and need sustained international support. Focus on Mental Health and Trauma A central theme of the visit was mental health, an issue both Harry and Meghan have championed through their charitable initiatives. Psychologists working in the camp explained how trauma from war and forced migration has deeply affected children, many of whom suffer from anxiety, sleep disorders, and interrupted education. Meghan spoke with teenage girls participating in counseling sessions and creative workshops designed to help them express their experiences. “Healing is not just about rebuilding homes, but rebuilding confidence and identity,” she said. Prince Harry, who has previously spoken openly about his own struggles with mental health following the death of his mother, stressed the importance of long-term psychological care for displaced populations. He praised aid workers for operating under difficult conditions with limited resources. Symbolic Gesture Amid Regional Tensions The visit comes at a time of heightened political and security tensions across parts of the Middle East. Analysts say the couple’s presence was symbolic, underlining the role of humanitarian diplomacy even as governments remain divided over policy responses to conflicts and migration. Local officials welcomed the high-profile visit, describing it as an opportunity to amplify the voices of refugees. “When global figures come and listen, it sends a message that these people are not forgotten,” said one camp coordinator. However, some critics questioned the effectiveness of celebrity visits, arguing that sustained policy action and funding are more important than symbolic gestures. Supporters countered that such visits help mobilize public opinion and increase donations to relief organizations. Part of a Broader Advocacy Tour The refugee camp visit formed part of a larger Middle East itinerary that included meetings with youth leaders, women’s groups, and representatives from international NGOs. The couple also attended roundtable discussions on education access for displaced children and economic opportunities for refugee women. Sources close to the Sussexes said the trip aligns with their long-term goal of supporting marginalized communities and encouraging collaboration between governments and humanitarian organizations. Their foundation has previously backed programs related to mental health services and disaster relief. Public Reaction and Media Coverage News of the visit quickly spread across international media and social platforms, drawing mixed reactions. Many praised the couple for using their influence to spotlight a humanitarian crisis. Social media users shared images of Harry and Meghan sitting with refugee children and participating in classroom activities, calling the scenes “powerful” and “humbling.” Others criticized the visit as a publicity exercise, suggesting that the couple’s presence could distract from the work of local aid agencies. Aid workers involved in the visit defended it, saying the attention generated could translate into increased funding and volunteer support. A Message of Hope Before leaving the camp, Harry and Meghan thanked staff and volunteers for their efforts and expressed solidarity with the refugees. Meghan described the experience as “deeply grounding,” while Harry said it reinforced the need for the international community to prioritize human dignity in conflict zones. As their Middle East trip continues, the Duke and Duchess are expected to engage with regional leaders and humanitarian partners to discuss long-term strategies for refugee assistance. Their visit underscores how public figures can draw attention to complex global issues, even as debates continue about the best way to address displacement and humanitarian need.

When the Shelter Closes. Top Story - February 2026.
Across the street from my house, a man slept under a tree, his dog by his side. My first, naive thought: he must be traveling through. But he kept coming back, often sleeping there during the day. Then it hit me—that person might not have a home.

The Joy, Happiness and Love...JHL Cluster.
The acronym JHL can have multiple meanings depending on the context. In the context of hierarchical clustering, it refers to algorithms used to build a dendrogram (a diagram representing a tree graph) of nested clusters. JHL is associated with specific statistics that measure performance. Additionally, JHL can stand for various terms across different fields, indicating its versatility as an acronym.

Congratulations
A system that is broken or misaligned, be it social, economic, cultural, technological, or otherwise. Spam/Scam calls or messages seem to cover them all. Social systems of shame among family & friends are overcome & broken by economic realities. Local politics engage in human trafficking, often of entire communities, forcing them into the trade. (If the first three numbers of a 13-digit phone number are “234”, the call originates from Nigeria where, for many, such call centers are simply a fact of life.) Where law enforcement would love to be able to bring practitioners to justice (India is a prime example), lack of resources causes it to break down.

A System That Breaks You More
I feel that to explain this, it might be worth explaining who I am and my own predicament first, and why it is that I feel the urge to explain what it feels like to live with a life-long illness in America. The American healthcare system has long been criticized, but it goes beyond that, and I’d like to explain the completely failed system. A system that buries people in debt, pain, and a constant overwhelming feeling of being unwanted by society at large.

Socialism
Socialism is one of the most used forms of government since it was coined. Despite the ancients running similar systems, it has taken a different form in each place, depending on regions. The different forms all have similar core principles. Yet they do differ in the smaller factors. It conquered many nations with its promises of equality and high social benefits. The equality of the systems draws so many to their ideas. They are generally simple and offer a sense of equality, but they deliver few results that consolidate power in the ruling elite. As this system has been tried, it has not always been successful. It is a system of government control that lacks personal ownership and offers little room for dissent. Socialism will ultimately depend on everyone working together to make the system function, but it will still suffer from financial difficulties. Over a hundred years, the results have spoken: socialism has proven it struggles without elements of capitalism to address financial issues.

Paging Doctor Amazon!
Every trip to the Emergency Room with my mother, age 95, has deepened my appreciation for our undervalued nurses and support staff while confirming how broken the medical system has become. The Trump administration's cut in educational funding that targets nursing and other medical programs is demoralizing female students of color who are starting to drop out of school.
