Life in The Rockies
Growing up and living in the Rocky Mountains as your backdrop anywhere you went in Colorado was my life. People always said that Colorado was one of the best places to go skiing or snowboarding, other times we were the last place people had in mind when they wanted beaches. Funny thing about Colorado was you always saw people in shorts and tanks all year round. Sure, winters get cold but it's not something that could bring a whole state to its knees. I was born in Pueblo, Colorado and the city itself could have Denver fit inside its limits. Outside of Pueblo is Colorado Springs, or anyone living in Colorado it’s just Springs. Kids had school when a foot of snow falls even two feet, we had school. Barely had any kind of snow day unless the buses couldn't run. Denver had the hockey, football, basketball, and baseball stadiums. Although both hockey and basketball shared a stadium, there was always something going. The Pepsi Center was one of those that had several events that were always and are mostly held.

Mornings
Mornings come, when you give them a moment they are less intimidating. To some a morning is a blessing, a welcoming start to a new day. To others "morning" can mean anything from a disturbed night sleep tossing and turning anxiously about their proposed wake up. You see I used to be like exhibit B, Things changed, later into my teenage years. The trick I found was resonate a happy memory to an early morning time, this mindset enabled me to crave that moment and wake up on time.

Embrace Your Solitude
Alone time may sound scary but, it is a chance to recharge. I am an introverted extrovert so, as much as I thrive in a social setting I embrace my alone time. During my time of solitude the world slows down and I do things I enjoy. Alone time gives you a chance to practice self-care. You have a chance to improve your mind and focus on your needs. To some, alone time can cause anxiety at first. Being by yourself with your thoughts can be intimidating but, it offers a space to combat your thoughts.

Diabetes Won't Win
In April 2020, during the lockdown, I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. Due to the lockdown, I was working from home and was inflicted with an abscess on my back that required a doctor's visit. During that visit, and in order to determine if there was an infection involved, the doctor did blood work, gave me an antibiotic and a reference to another doctor to get the abscess removed. That was a Wednesday afternoon. On Thursday late morning, my doctor called me with the news of my Type2 Diabetes. My blood sugar was over 600 (dangerously high) and he wanted me back in the office the next day.

Gone With The Chemicals
Gone with the chemicals, gone with the wind that brings them to our land. Gone with the materials that bring disease, irritation and threaten our lives. We have become the product of a society that no longer cares for its peoples’ health, yet would fight you for a few extra quid. There is no escaping the unpronounceable ingredients in our toothpaste, our cleaning products, our shower gels and shampoos. How do we escape such a world?
